Glantz created an engaging digital community experience for the Bahá’ís of the United States to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of the Bab on October 29th & 30th, 2019. This involved developing a flexible, user-friendly live feed on their WordPress website, allowing the community to share photos, videos, podcasts, and blog posts from global festivities. Glantz designed the platform to foster inclusivity and oneness, ensuring members could feel part of the celebrations regardless of their location. The solution was also built as a reusable template for future community engagement initiatives.
How did Glantz help the Bahá’ís celebrate 200 years of oneness digitally?
Glantz helped the Bahá’ís of the United States celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of the Bab by creating a new digital experience on their website. This involved developing a live feed to engage their community with photos, videos, podcasts, and blog posts from global festivities. We launched their website last year and have continued to evolve it as the religion and community grow, leading to this specific project for the October 29th & 30th, 2019 celebrations.
On October 29th & 30th, 2019, Bahá’ís from around the world will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of the Bab, the Prophet-Herald of the Bahá’í Faith. To help document and share these festivities, the Bahá’í team in Evanston asked us to create a new experience on their website. The goal: to engage their community with photos, videos, podcasts, and blog posts from the celebrations in a live feed.
How did Glantz enable the Bahá’í community to share experiences digitally?
Glantz enabled the Bahá’í community to share experiences digitally by creating a dedicated space on their WordPress website, specifically a new sub-section on the existing Stories page. This involved developing a flexible content feed that allows both the Bahá’í team and the community to post quick pieces of content like photos or videos, and longer-form stories. The platform was designed with user experience in mind, ensuring inclusivity and oneness, allowing members to feel part of global celebrations regardless of location.
This project heavily focused on user experience and required quite a bit of strategic thought. The flow of content needed to be up-to-date, easy to follow, and exciting—all while embodying the energy and spirit of the celebration. In the end, we’re proud to say we created a feed that allows both the Bahá’í team and the community to post quick pieces of content such as photos or videos that appear in a Lightbox when clicked on, or longer form stories (whether audio or text) that people can click through to.
How did Glantz design the Bahá’í digital community platform for future use?
Glantz designed the Bahá’í digital community platform for future use by building the Bicentenary section as a reusable template. This ensures it can be easily adapted and repurposed for future content on the site, even after the Bicentenary page is archived. The content will remain accessible through the 2019 Bicentenary tag, allowing users to experience the celebrations long after they conclude, connecting their global community in an easily accessible way.
As always, it was a delight working with the Bahá’í team, and we never pass up an opportunity to flex our creative muscles. Working within the confines of a website we created, we were able to make their content come to life in a way that’s not only easily accessible but also connects their global community.
