Career Kickoff Opportunity: Front-End WordPress Developer Apprentice

The Front-End Developer Apprentice is an entry-level role, with day-to-day responsibilities of assisting small custom WordPress projects and maintenance of our live websites. There is a focus on shadowing the development team in order to gain experience within the business world while enhancing skills. This role learns to understand how the studio works and is the primary developer for production work under the guise of our senior team.

Job Description

**We are currently accepting applications for a potential winter/spring 2021 front-end developer apprentice that would be remote. Apprentice role is 4 months for a recent graduate with the potential to hire full time if there is an opportunity.**

Development Responsibilities:
  • Expand web development skills in WordPress
  • Assist all project sizes with guidance from development team
  • Execute overflow production development projects with efficiency and accuracy
  • Build and test email marketing
  • Translate complex technology to simple language
  • Maintenance of many websites hosted by Glantz
  • Perform troubleshooting after launching and while hosting a website
  • Be a tech-savvy professional, who is curious about new digital technologies and aspires to combine usability with visual design
  • Able to create a functional and attractive digital environment for our company, ensuring great user experience
  • Willing to learn something new, not rigid in beliefs or expectations
  • Engage with studio team in order to understand how to best communicate and complete a project
Strategic Work:
  • Learn to understand how development plays a role in user insights and analytics 
  • Learn and observe from account and design teams the strategy of design and communications
  • Collaborate with creative directors, designers, developers and account team to understand and execute the goal of the client
  • Mentored by full development team
  • Stays within budgets and timelines
  • Balances multiple projects at a time
  • Maintains daily timesheets
  • Maintains approximately 40 hours/week of working time (8:30-5:30ish) with some flexibility for early or late meetings or emergency work

  • Finish role with a project that can be considered their overall execution for their portfolio. Potential opportunity to hire as a Junior Developer.

Bachelor’s degree

Entry level, Minimum 1 year of relevant developer internship or freelance experience
